Our Mission

  • In partnership with our families and community, Turner County Schools will provide high quality educational experiences that lead to student success in college and careers.

Welcome to the Turner County School District website. I hope that this site will serve to provide you with an important link to our school system, its employees, and the resources we offer. It is our desire to make this site a valuable source of information for our teachers, students, parents, and community. The Turner County School District has been a leader in implementing technology and school improvement initiatives in Georgia for many years. We strive to continue this leadership role today, by providing our administrators, teachers, staff, and students with access to the most effective resources available and providing the necessary training to allow them to take full advantage of these available resources. This website is part of our school improvement effort.

The Turner County Board of Education is committed to providing the highest quality educational experience possible to Turner County's most valuable resource, its children. We welcome your input into this process. Please feel free to contact me, or other school personnel via email or phone to discuss your ideas or concerns regarding the school system and the services we provide. I know that working together, we can insure that Turner County's children are provided the best instruction, by the best teaching faculty in the safest environment possible. They deserve no less.

Turner County School System recognizes the Distinguished Service Award Recipients for the month of February 2017, Ms Susan Heard and Mrs. Vivian Rogers.

    Susan Heard

This award nomination was made by a student and here is some of what he had to say:

Ms. Heard worked with me and helped me bring all my grades up, not just my English grade.  She did not give up on me.  She is willing to help everyone.  She will not give up on her students.  She encourages us and tells us we can do it.  Ms. Heard really cares about her students.  She is a good teacher.

The board also recognizes all the extra things Ms. Heard does during her own time for the students of Turner County.  You will see her at many athletic functions, working in the concession stand, or volunteering wherever there is a need.  Ms. Heard the board appreciates all the extra time you invest in the students of Turner County.

Ms. Susan Heard, 8th Grade Middle School Teacher

Vivian Rogers

This award nomination was made by several staff members and here is some of what they had to say:

“Ms. Vivian is just awesome!  She makes sure needs are met whether it is providing meals, helping with fund raisers, or helping out with last minute snacks for a school activity.”

“At Homecoming, Ms. Vivian came back in on the weekend twice to make certain that the students had enough food and drink.  Ms. Vivian is proactive and innovative in coming up with ideas to make sure our students are fed.”

“Ms. Vivian started serving “Grab N Go” breakfast.  This took extra time and effort but she is willing to do anything for the students.  Students learn better if hunger is not an issue.”

“Ms. Vivian rocks!”

Ms. Vivian Rogers, Food Service Site Manager, Turner County Middle/High School

The Board would like to thank Ms. Rogers for all you do each day for our children.
