ARP Funds
In response to the economic impact of COVID-19, funds from the American
Rescue Plan (ARP) Act of 2021 were provided to schools to support areas where
the academic and non-academic components had the greatest needs due to
COVID-19. The intent of the funds was to support states and local school district’s
efforts to safely reopen schools, address significant gaps in learning, and support
measures of implementation that will continue to reduce the effects of COVID-19
on students and families.
Turner County Schools received federal funds from the American Rescue Plan
(ARP)-ESSER III in the sum of $6,594,556.00. ARP funds allow local districts to
enact appropriate measures to help schools address the impact COVID-19 has had
and continues to have on schools.
The local budget has been created to address the following needs:
Learning Loss
Salaries and supplements
Mental Health and Wellness Counselors
Behavior Therapists at middle and high schools
Afterschool/Summer school for all students
Transportation for afterschool/summer school
Additional Academic Interventionist at TCHS
Turner County Schools is requesting feedback on its plan to support student
learning with the funds received through the American Rescue Plan Act (ARP) of
2021. Please view the following documents as we are requesting your feedback
on how to refine our plan to support student learning with ARP funds. The funds
will be exhausted in September 2024.
