Curriculum & Instruction

The Turner County School District is committed to providing a standards-based curriculum using research-based best practices, strategies, and high-quality instructional materials as resources to support teaching and learning. We promote a holistic approach to assessment that includes regular data analysis in order to track student progress and also to inform and adapt instruction. The Georgia Standards of Excellence is our core curriculum. Our vision “Excellence in Education” underscores its commitment to all stakeholders. We expect everyone involved with our students to adhere to a higher standard of excellence, so our students can succeed in college, career, and life. 

Based on an analysis of student data, needs, and challenges, we have identified four instructional priorities on which we will focus:

• Raise student achievement

• Improve student growth

• Build student and teacher relationships
