In Mrs. Warren’s Forensic Science class, students engaged in a hands-on exploration of their own hair samples, focusing on cuticle analysis. This activity not only deepens their understanding of forensic science but also highlights the importance of observation in scientific inquiry. 🌟
How do you incorporate practical experiences in your teaching?

🌟 Alumni Spotlight: Michael Bass 🌟

Turner County High School is proud to celebrate Michael Bass, a TCHS graduate who has come full circle in building our future! 🙌

Michael is currently an Electrician Apprentice with Wiregrass, and he has had the unique opportunity to work on the construction of our new high school. 🔧⚡

When asked about his Teacher of Impact, Michael named Mrs. Mandi Cole, His former WBL/YAP Supervisor. Michael shared:

“She always encouraged me to pursue my dreams, and she is the reason I decided to pursue a career as an electrician.”

We are so proud of Michael’s accomplishments and grateful for the teachers who inspire students to chase their goals. 💙🧡

Writing great essays starts with writing great sentences! ✍️ Mrs. Johnson’s 9th graders had a fun little competition building sentences with verb phrases. 🎉 While chatting about their sentences, they realized some action verbs don’t always act like verbs. 🤔 The most common one today? The gerund — an -ing verb that actually works like a noun! 📝✨

Guest Speaker Spotlight: Zachary Wells 🔨

Our Welding students recently welcomed Zachary Wells, a skilled welder and NDT-certified inspector, to share his expertise.

Mr. Wells provided students with an inside look at the career opportunities available in the welding industry, the day-to-day responsibilities of professionals in the field, and the vital role of safety in every aspect of the trade.

This experience gave students valuable, real-world knowledge to help guide their path toward future success in the industry.

Building Skills Beyond the Torch 🔧

Instructor Caitlin Wells and our SRTC dual enrollment welding students are taking responsibility for their new shop space by assisting with tool inventory, equipment relocation, and shop organization.

These activities are more than clean-up tasks—they’re important lessons in how to create and maintain a safe, efficient, and functional welding environment. Developing these habits early will serve them well as they prepare for future careers in the skilled trades.

🚍 Attention Turner County Families! With the first day of school right around the corner, it’s time to get transportation plans in place! To help our dedicated bus drivers get every student to and from school safely and efficiently, we need a current Bus Transportation Form on file for each child riding the bus this year. ✅ Even if you’ve filled out this form in the past, we need a new one completed for the 2025–2026 school year. ✅ Please fill out one form per child and answer every question. Your help ensures a smooth and safe start to the year. Thank you! 📲 https://forms.gle/2wh3VzQggjUhHxjv9
